Nach einer Verletzung von Lead-Gitarrist Matthias Jabs, die mehrere Operationen zur Folge hatte, können die Shows in Nürnberg, Hamburg, Leipzig, Köln und Frankfurt nicht wie geplant stattfinden und trotz intensiver Bemühungen ist es leider nicht möglich, neue Termine zu fixieren.

Liebe Fans und Freunde,

wie ihr vielleicht schon gehört habt, bin ich in unserem gemieteten Ferienhaus auf Sylt die Treppe (16 Stufen) hinunter gefallen.
Dabei habe ich mir die Ferse gebrochen und den kleinen Finger 2x gebrochen.
Mittlerweile bin ich in Hamburg von 2 Spezialisten erfolgreich operiert worden und kann Dank der Top-Leistung der Ärzte positiv in die Zukunft schauen.
Ich werde von meiner Seite aus alles für eine schnelle Genesung tun, um bald wieder mit meiner Gitarre auf der Bühne zu stehen.
Es tut mir leid, dass die Konzerte im September nicht stattfinden können, aber ich bin zuversichtlich, dass wir uns bald wieder sehen.

Dear fans and friends,

as you might have heard already, i had a bad accident in my rented summer house.
I fell down the stairs with 16 steps and broke my left pinky twice and I also broke my left heel.
I had surgeries on both, hand and foot, by the best specialists I could find in Hamburg.
Now it is time to heal and start the physical rehabilitation for a speedy recovery.
I will try everthing to be able to play guitar again on stage as soon as possible.
I am sorry to tell you, that the shows in September won´t be happening, but I am very optimistic that we will see us again very soon.

The SCORPIONS are forced to cancel all upcoming German tour dates in September 2024 due to an injury sustained by Matthias Jabs. Matthias Jabs’ injury requires surgery and subsequent rehabilitation.

The cancellation hits the band hard, as they were in the final stretch of their “Love At First Sting” world tour. They deeply regret this decision and apologize to the more than 40,000 fans who have already purchased tickets, as well as to the event organizers.

EXCLUSIVE: Ali Afshar‘s ESX Entertainment has signed on to develop and produce the musical biopic Wind of Change, about German rock band Scorpions, which will tell the story of three unlikely friends whose passion for rock n’ roll fueled their rise from the ashes of post-World War II Germany to the global stardom in the 1980s as the multi-platinum rock band Scorpions.

With their home soil still divided, and friends and family on the other side of the Berlin Wall, Rudolf Schenker, Klaus Meine & Matthias Jabs made the bold decision to defy state bans and take a leap of faith behind Soviet lines to fill arenas in the heart of the USSR.  At the height of their revolutionary tour, the band releases what will become the defining theme for the end of the Cold War – a ballad that circles the globe as the Wall comes down and resonates to this day as an anthem for peace.

The movie’s title comes from the band’s 1991 global hit single, which was released after the failed coup that would lead to the end of the Soviet Union. That’s when the Soviet Union’s hardline Communist party hardliners tried to take control of the USSR from Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev. The single sold 14M copies worldwide.

French-born filmmaker Alex Ranarivelo (American Wrestler: The Wizard) will direct.

Says Afshar, “The Scorpions’ music has penetrated our culture in a big way.”

“There is an evocative quality to their sound that is unmatched in the genre, which is one of the reasons hits like ‘Rock You Like a Hurricane’ and ‘Still Loving You’ continue to get so much airplay and fill movie soundtracks, and their music continues to connect with a new generation of fans across the globe,” the producer adds.

“When my family fled Iran and came to the United States, the Scorpions’ music changed my life – if not saved it,” he continues.  “I’m hoping that by telling the Scorpions’ story, we can bring some of that same inspiration to the world,” Afshar says.

Wind of Change is being produced by ESX Entertainment’s Christina Moore and Daniel Aspromonte (Bennett’s War, American Fighter).  The film is slated for production in Europe later this year, targeting a 2025 release to coincide with the Scorpions’ highly anticipated 60th Anniversary celebrations.

“Dear Mexican Fans
Knowing that some of our most amazing diehard fans live in Mexico, it is with a heavy heart that I have to let you know, Scorpions will not be performing at the Vive Latino Festival on the 16th March 2024 in Mexico City.

The reason we have had to cancel is because I recently underwent a complex spine surgery , and my doctors expected me to be better and back on my feet in time for the show.

I am making good progress with my rehab, but unfortunately, I have not recovered as expected and after talking with my medical team, I am advised that a 12-hour flight time and performing at 2000 meters altitude is a tough one for anybody and I am not well enough to travel and to give you the show you all deserve.

I hope we can come back to Mexico soon, to Rock you Like a Hurricane!!!!!
